DERBY GOLF CLUB

THE SEVENTH

A short par four that can be a small respite If given enough respect. Anybody thinking of
opening their shoulders should consider out of bounds all the way down the right hand side and as the trees continue to grow taller on the left of the fairway this side becomes tighter and more hazardous. A wide entrance to a flat putting surface is well guarded on the left by a steep
bunker that catches many approaches.

THE NINTH

A recently redesigned hole that causes the best of the pro's to stop and think.
For the mid-handicap player the smart way to play this double
dog leg is as a par 5, not cutting the corners. The longer player may attack the green in two blows but this has a long carry over internal out of bounds and large trees.
This is a great green that is set in a hollow and everything feeds towards the green. Out of bounds waits for any over hit
approach shot.

THE EIGHTH

Another long par four. Slight
dog leg to the left with a very generous fairway. Out of bounds guards the hole all the way to the right, the perfect drive is to
take it as close to the left hand grass mound as possible. This leaves a short shot in to a smallish green with trouble all round. The easiest up and down is from the right side of the fairway .
